Cross Ropes Okinawa

Heute ging es noch mal zu dem Tauchspot ‚Cross Ropes‘. Spoiler: einer der besten -weil es hier viel seltene Lebewesen gibt – Tauchspots überhaupt.

Diesen Spot kann man ohne Probleme auch 50 Mal betauchen, ohne sich jemals zu langweilen. Das Riff an dem man ankert ist schon alleine sehenswert, weil es sehr gut gewachsen ist und und man immer Schwarmfisch,  Meeresschildkröten und wunderschöne Hardkorallen dort vorfindet.

Der eigentliche Tauchsport ‚Cross Ropes‘ ist nur ca 2 Minuten Tauchzeit vom Ankerplatz entfernt. Hier passiert einiges, deshalb ist volle Konzentration gefordert.  Die Liste der Meeresbewohner ist lang:

Anglerfische, winzige Rotfeuerfische, Baby Frogfish, Meeresschildkröten,Seewespen, Leaf Stonefish aber auch Seepferdchen sind hier zu finden. Ebenso wie die Gespensterkrabbe und natürlich deren Nachbarn den Anemonenfischen.

Auch heute mit anderen Tauchern und anderen Geiz gab es keinerlei Streitigkeiten wer was wann fotografieren darf es wurde geduldig gewartet, wenn jemand etwas entdeckt hatte es den anderen anzeigte und natürlich zuerst seine Fotos machte. Ich habe heute bei mir bemerkt dass mein Luftverbrauch trotz der Tiefe von ca 20 m wesentlich besser war als noch zwei Tage zuvor, da ich zum einen diesen Spot schon kannte, zum anderen nicht mehr ganz so aufgeregt war wie zwei Tage davor.

Einer der besten Tauchplätze überhaupt, den ich betaucht habe. Wer hier nicht begeistert ist, dem ist nicht zu helfen.

Cross Ropes

These days, I went back to the „Cross Ropes“ dive site, where I had been before.

This spot can be dived 50 times without ever getting bored. The reef where you anchor is worth seeing in itself because it is very well developed and you will always find schools of fish, sea turtles, and beautiful hard corals there.

Diving at Cross Ropes is only about a 2-minute dive from the anchorage. There’s a lot going on here, so full concentration is required.  The list of marine life is long:

Frogfish, tiny lionfish, baby frogfish, sea turtles, sea wasps, and seahorses can all be found here. As can ghost crabs and, of course, their neighbors, the anemonefish.

Even today, with other divers and other stinginess, there were no arguments about who was allowed to photograph what and when. Everyone waited patiently, and when someone discovered something, they showed it to the others and, of course, took their photos first. Today, I noticed that my air consumption was much better than two days ago, despite the depth of about 20 m, because I already knew this spot and was not quite as excited as two days ago.

One of the best diving spots I have ever dived at. If you’re not thrilled by this place, there’s no helping you.
