Manchmal trifft man Entscheidungen beim Tauchen nicht mit dem Kopf, sondern mit dem Bauch. So war es bei mir, als ich das erste Mal den Scubapro MK25 EVO mit A700 Carbon in der Black Tech Edition gesehen habe. Und, ja Andreas, du hast Recht manche Dinge muss man sich gönnen! Punkt. Allerdings hat es ein paar Jahre gedauert, bis ich mir das Objekt meiner Begierde geleistet habe.
Es ist ähnlich wie bei dem neuen Sidemount System von Razor, ich besitze die „normale“ Version, wollte aber unbedingt die Titanium Variante.
So ist es auch hier: ich habe den MK25 mit dem A700 in der Verchromten Version schon, wollte aber die optisch und technisch leicht bessere Variante haben und das schon längere Zeit. Deshalb ist sie nun mein!
Und nachdem ich das Atemregler Set jetzt einige Tauchgänge testen konnte, weiß ich: Das war nicht nur ein optisches, sondern auch ein kleines technisches Upgrade.
Design, das begeistert
Ich geb’s zu: Das Auge taucht bei mir mit. Der komplett schwarze Look mit dem Carbon-Frontdeckel sieht einfach phantastisch aus. Die DLC-Beschichtung (Diamond-Like Carbon) verleiht dem Set nicht nur eine besondere Härte und Kratzfestigkeit, sondern auch einen coolen, fast stealthy Look, der ein bisschen ins Auge fällt– ohne aufdringlich zu sein.
MK25 EVO – DAS Arbeitstier
Ich hatte vorher schon einige hochwertige Atemregler, aber der MK25 EVO hat mich wirklich beeindruckt. Die Atemarbeit ist butterweich – ich spüre kaum Widerstand, selbst bei etwas mehr Tiefe oder Strömung. Die Luftlieferung ist konstant und kräftig, kein Ruckeln, kein Zögern. Vor allem im Kaltwasser hat er sich bewährt – und das XTIS-System (Extended Thermal Insulating System) hält, was es verspricht. Einfrieren ist fast nicht möglich. Ich habe diese erste Stufe in Österreich bei minus 15 Grad Außentemperatur und 3 Grad Wassertemperatur getestet. Einwandfrei! Und da hat das restliche Equipment ordentlich gelitten.
Was ich besonders mag: die drehbare Turm-Konstruktion mit fünf LP-Ports. So kann ich meine Schläuche perfekt verlegen, und nichts ist im Weg. Gut, hier gibt es nur das optische Update, denn die verchromte Standard Variante ist technisch exakt gleich. Nur nicht so schön 😉.
A700 Carbon – Klein, leicht, stark
Die zweite Stufe, der A700 Carbon, ist ein kleines Kraftpaket. Das Carbon macht ihn super leicht – man merkt ihn im Mund kaum. Und gleichzeitig gibt er mir ein richtig solides Gefühl. Die Atemleistung ist top, ob es da einen wirklichen Unterschied zum Standort A700 gibt, weiß ich nicht. Vielleicht ist das nur im Labor zu messen und zu beweisen.
Und ja, der Metallkörper plus Carbon ist nicht nur stylisch, sondern sorgt auch im kalten Wasser für eine gute Wärmeleitung – keine Eisbildung, keine bösen Überraschungen.
Fazit: Ja, er war teuer – sehr teuer, aber er ist es wert.
Wenn du überlegst, dir dieses Setup zuzulegen, hier mein ehrlicher Eindruck: Es ist ein Atemregler für Menschen, die keine Kompromisse wollen. Du bekommst hier Technik auf Top-Niveau, verpackt in einem Look, der einzigartig ist. Für mich war es nicht nur ein Kauf, sondern eine Investition – in Komfort, Sicherheit und ein -vielleicht nur eingebildetes- besseres Tauchgefühl.
In meiner kleinen Welt ist das definitiv das schönste Atemregler Set!
Kommen wir zum Preis. Bitte hinsetzten. Das Set (1x A700 und 1x MK 25) kostet ca 950 Euro. Ja. Viel Zaster.

MK 25 and A700 BLACK TEC
Sometimes, when diving, you don’t make decisions with your head—you make them with your gut. That’s exactly how it was for me when I first saw the Scubapro MK25 EVO with the A700 Carbon in the Black Tech Edition. And, yes, Andreas, you’re right—sometimes you just have to treat yourself! Period. It did take a few years, though, before I could finally afford the object of my desire.
It’s similar to Razor’s new sidemount system—I already own the „standard“ version, but I really wanted the titanium model.
It’s the same here: I already have the MK25 with the A700 in the chrome version, but I’ve wanted the slightly better-looking and technically superior version for quite some time. That’s why it’s now mine!
And after testing the regulator set on a few dives, I know: This wasn’t just a cosmetic upgrade, but also a small technical one.
Design that inspires I’ll admit it: My eyes dive along with me. The all-black look with the carbon front cover simply looks fantastic. The DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating not only gives the set exceptional hardness and scratch resistance, but also a cool, almost stealthy look that catches the eye a bit—without being obtrusive. MK25 EVO – THE Workhorse
I’ve owned several high-quality regulators before, but the MK25 EVO really impressed me. Breathing is incredibly smooth—I hardly feel any resistance, even at greater depths or in stronger currents. The air delivery is constant and powerful, no jerking, no hesitation. It has proven itself especially in cold water—and the XTIS system (Extended Thermal Insulating System) delivers on its promise. Freezing is almost impossible. I tested this first stage in Austria at minus 15 degrees Celsius outside and 3 degrees Celsius water temperature. Flawless! And the rest of my gear really took a beating. What I especially like: the swiveling tower design with five LP ports. This lets me route my hoses perfectly, and nothing gets in the way. Well, here it’s just a cosmetic update, because the standard chrome version is technically exactly the same. Just not as nice 😉.
A700 Carbon – Small, Light, Strong
The second stage, the A700 Carbon, is a little powerhouse. The carbon makes it super light—you can barely feel it in your mouth. And at the same time, it gives me a really solid feel. The breathing performance is top-notch; I don’t know if there’s a real difference compared to the standard A700. Maybe that can only be measured and proven in a lab.
And yes, the metal body plus carbon isn’t just stylish, it also ensures good heat conduction in cold water—no ice buildup, no nasty surprises.
Bottom line: Yes, it was expensive—very expensive—but it’s worth it.
If you’re thinking about getting this setup, here’s my honest take: It’s a regulator for people who don’t want to compromise. You get top-tier technology here, packaged in a look that’s unique. For me, it wasn’t just a purchase, but an investment—in comfort, safety, and a—perhaps just imagined—better diving experience.
In my little world, this is definitely the most beautiful regulator set!
Let’s talk about the price. Please have a seat. The set (1x A700 and 1x MK 25) costs about 950 euros. Yeah. That’s a lot of money.
